On Friday evening you will arrive at the retreat between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. At 5:00 p.m. you will have a centering and meditation to help you set your intention for what you would like to receive for the weekend. In other words by asking yourself what you want to create in your life you will answer the question, how will participating in this yoga retreat help you fulfill that?
Your first yoga class will focus on befriending your body. In this class you will be invited to come to know your body as a wise teacher. Throughout the course of the class you will notice and become aware of the relationship you have with your body. After class-time you will be encouraged to journal your discoveries from class.
We will have a later dinner at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night and then lots of time for socializing, relaxing, or just an early night to bed. Our mornings will begin at 8:00 a.m. with breakfast. You are welcome to enjoy the grounds for walks or use the studio for meditation or yoga prior to that time.
At 9:30 a.m. we will come together for our first meditation and yoga practice. Our first morning together will focus on awareness and acceptance. In this class you will open the doors of awareness to your breath, body, thoughts, emotions, and memories. From a place of awareness you will explore accepting that which you have become aware. Again, time will be given to record your discoveries in your journals. At 12:00 nooon we will enjoy a delicious lunch together and then you will be given the rest of the afternoon to rest, integrate, go for a walk or do whatever you want to do in your spare time.
At 4:00 p.m. we will come together once again for another yoga class. Once you come to a place of acceptance (as you explored in the morning class), you have a choice. At any moment, how you are being is your choice. Your thoughts, beliefs, assumptions and actions are all your choice. In this class you will explore how you choose to be. The day will end with dinner just after 6:00 p.m. and another evening to relax, socialize or get some extra rest.
Our second day together will again begin with breakfast at 8:00 a.m. and our first yoga class at 9:30 a.m. On Sunday morning you will explore awareness once again, but this time, in a deeper way. You will sit with your awareness until the more subtle layers of awareness reveal themselves. This class is about going deeper into your practice and discovering even more about yourself.
After lunch at noon on Sunday you will take part in your final class which is about discovering your truth and taking your truth out into the world. It is a phenomenal way to pull together the awareness that you gathered throughout the weekend and to set some intention about how you will take that with you back into your everyday life.
