Mount Doug Hike
It has been a few weeks since I have had a vlog for you and so I thought we could take a hike through the trails of Mount Doug and catch up. The last couple of weeks have been quite full and nourishing for me as I was away on yin yoga retreat last weekend. Thank you to all of you who made that possible for me. The retreat took place at the Krishnamurti retreat centre in Metchosin BC. The 32-acre, ocean front property was a beautiful location to take some time out and reflect on the past year. The forest, rocks on the beach and the sunrises were spectacular. Tim and I are planning on running some retreats on Vancouver Island, so this location is a contender.
This autumn has also been quite fulfilling in terms of taking the Mahayana course with my teacher Neil McKinlay from Dharma Ocean. On Saturday I had the honour of taking the bodhisattva vow. It was a moving ceremony and as I walked through the trails of Mount Doug I was able to reflect on the meaning of this vow and the next steps in my life.
Finally our community is embarking on a beautiful journey today. We are engaging in the 5 elements over the next 7 months or so starting with the wood element. This will be a magical journey combining yoga, pranayama, poetry, contemplation and time in nature. I am looking forward to meeting with our members this morning and officially embarking on our journey.
What a beautiful walk through the North path today. A lovely, easy hike without incline. Thank you for joining me. If you made it all the way to the end put, the forest is beautiful and the north path is the way to go in the comments. Special thanks to the raven for gracing us with his/her presence.
