DIY Meditation Cushion Cover
In an effort to improve the look of my surroundings I decided to cover my mis-matched meditation cushions this week. I chose a cute pattern with blues and grays to match the backdrop to our Yoga with Melissa set and our freshly chalk-painted kitchen table and chairs. (Link to how I painted the chairs)
I started by cutting out the shapes for the upper and lower parts of the cushions. I just placed the material on top of the cushions and cut about an inch around the cushions. Then I measured the diameter around the cushion and the height of the cushion and cut a long strip for the bean shaped meditation cushions, which is referred to as a wedge or a crescent shape cushion.
I followed this article to figure out how to make the circumference of the zafus.
From there it was a lot of pinning and slow and steady sewing. The step by step details of the process are in the video. I had to take a lot of the stuffing out of the zafus I had, which wasn´t a problem because in my opinion they were too firm anyway.
In the end I was happy with the aesthetic result of the covered cushions. Let me know if you like them in the comments. What is your meditation set up? Have you ever made a meditation cushion?
