: Today’s question comes from our website from Marucha
Good morning Melissa,
When we first started practicing mudras in the routines I wasn’t sure I was “getting” it. Now, I find myself looking forward to that part. It would be really cool to have mini videos of each mudra with info … just an idea.
I’m so glad to hear you are enjoying the mudras. 🙂 This is a request that we have had many times, to put together videos with each mudra. Several of our open hearted graduates from our continuing education course for teachers have even offered to do so as well. My concern has always been intellectual copyright issues. To compile something that already exists somewhere else seems like an infringement to me, this is why we continue to offer mudras within the contexts of our classes and weekly challenges on our membership as part of the creation of something new.
That being said, I can point you in the direction of where you can go to get all the information you ever wanted on mudras in one handy place. I highly recommend:
- Gertrude Hirschi’s book: Yoga in Your Hands
- Sabrine Mesko’s book: Power Mudras
- A lot of mudras come from Kundalini Yoga. Spirit Voyage has several publications which include mudras at Spirit Voyage
I hope that helps. Thanks for a great question.
