Today’s question comes to us from Youtube from Mike and he asks,
With respect to the Mula Bandha, are we supposed to consciously contract the pelvic muscle or just feel it pull slightly forward (naturally)??
I know there is some debate about this in the yoga community since there is a slight lifting of the pelvic floor at the end of exhalation anyway. However when I practice mula bandha I consciously lift my pelvic floor muscles up and inside drawing my pubic and tail bones closer together. This lift and contraction helps to draw on a deep inner level of power together with the other bhandas. This is all covered off in great detail in the video where he asks the question on the bhandas.
