In Yoga with Melissa 13, Melissa takes you through various pranayama practices in a series of simple yoga poses. Pranayama practices from 3-part breathing, extended exhalation, square breath, kapalabhati breath, lion’s breath, breath of joy and alternate nostril breathing are explored. As a special bonus, one of Melissa’s guests is pregnant, so precautions for prenatal pranayama are given.
Hi Melissa, I felt compelled to thank you so much for this class. I found it extremely relaxing and loved all the different breath practice. My favorite energising breath is the breath of joy, and my favorite calning breath is the alternate nostril breathing. This class is a wonderful tool for guided meditation. All my stress just washed away and my body feels less tense, my mind more clear, my emotions so much more calm, and my breath so clean and energising. I have been practicing a lot of your earlier classes with an attitude of a beginner’s mind and I have been learning so much or relearning some things, which is wonderful. You are truly one of the most giving, amazing people on the planet. You are very much appeciated. If you ever visit Australia, or I visit Canada I would love to meet you in person and give you a big, heartfelt, and grateful hug. Loving you and your classes. Namaste, Helen
You are so welcome Helen, this is such a great study in pranayama. Isn’t breath of joy wonderfully uplifting and I love alternate nostril breathing for calming too. 🙂 I like your idea of using this class as a guided meditation. I love that you are going back to the earlier classes with beginner’s mind. I could stand to do this too! 🙂 I would relearn a lot of my material too! Thank you for your kind appreciation. I do hope to visit Australia one day for sure and you are always welcome in Canada. Much love, Melissa
Thank you so much for this class!! I finished it yesterday and it was so calming. Furthermore, lion’s breath gave me such a beautiful emotional release, so I really want to thank you for including that breath in the class. Instead of doing the 3 minutes of alternate nostril breathing after the class, I ended up doing some more lion’s breath to continue to try to release some more blockage.
You’ve inspired me to stick with yoga, I actually just completed 40 days straight of yoga following your free classes. I had tried yoga on and off for the last 10 years, but would always get burnt out. I was given the book recommendation of the Power of Now, to help deal with my anxiety in a natural way. In the book it mentioned Karma Yoga, which piqued my interest. A quick youtube search led me to your class on Hanuman and karma and while I didn’t take that class at that time, I did take all your beginners classes. From those classes, i’ve been finding the rest so far so easy to follow thanks to all your amazing instructions in those beginners classes. I loved how you brought the perfect amount of spirituality into each class *i guess thats what had been lacking when i previously attempted different yoga classes.* I look forward every day to yoga now. Thank you, Thank you, thank you. You’ve helped me in so many ways from your wonderful classes!!
Much Love from Victoria, BC
