Yoga with Melissa 16 is a perfect opportunity to reflect on the energy behind our new year’s resolutions. New Year’s resolutions are usually backed with an energy of will power, of resolving to make it happen. We can be very hard on ourselves as we push ourselves to exercise more, eat better, get out of debt, quit smoking, or cut back on alcohol consumption. The energy of self- control, determination, discipline and restraint can be quite exhausting. We will attempt to shift the perspective on our intentions by using the yamas of ahimsa, satya and brahmacharya. This asana practice gently releases the hips and shoulders and builds to eagles pose.
