Yoga with Melissa 34 is about Satya or Truthfulness. This is the ย second of a ten-class series of yoga classes on the yamas and niyamas. Melissa explores what it means to cultivate satya, or truthfulness in yoga asana and in the larger context of your life. Satya occurs when our thoughts words and actions are consistent with one another. By tuning to the truth of our bodies, minds, emotions, breath and spirit we are able to cultivate an honest and sincere practice.
We begin our yoga practice releasing our hamstrings with supta padangusthasana or reclined hand to big toe pose, followed by some hip openers. When we come up to standing we practice the warrior poses. Shoulder Stand and fish pose allow us to access our throat chakra so that we can speak our truth.

Finally I found Episode 34 , Satya ๐ What I really enjoyed in today’s class was the surprise shoulder stand ๐ What a nice stretchy feeling. I liked when you reiterated to look for a complete self within us …..acknowledging the wholeness in us. Very rarely you get to hear this. Thank you for your time and effort. Had an amazing class with a story along the way about Sati and Shiv ๐ I also liked how you validated anger and gave a positive meaning to it by sharing example of activists for example PETA workers. Acceptance thy name….:) Namaste Melissa!

In my spare time ๐ Yes complete self within us … I should say that more often!!! You had a lot of great take aways from this class ๐ I look forward to hearing your experience with the rest of the yamas and niyamas too Namaste, Melissa
