Yoga with Melissa 35 is about asteya, translated as non-stealing. In this class we cultivate asteya by practicing generosity. By bringing awareness to the generous, life affirming nature of our breath and the natural generosity of our heart center we are able to open to asteya. This yoga class allows you to bring gratitude to the part of your body that feels open and generous through gradual sequencing spinal expansion, heart openers and reflecting on the generosity of nature with tree and mountain pose.
We begin the yoga class with some spinal sequencing through bridge pose to open your heart center and release your spine. This is followed by some cobra building to release your spine and open your heart. Cat pose continues the spinal release followed by lunge pose to release your hips. In the standing position we will release your shoulder’s with cow’s face arms and a nice big chest opener. There are even some variations on wheel pose in this class.
