Your lungs and large intestines are organs of expansion and contraction, of receiving and releasing. In this practice we will open up your lungs to strengthen your immune system and we will relax and tone your large intestine to allow you to let go of what is no longer needed.
Today’s Yoga with Melissa is about choice. Once we become aware and accept that awareness then we arrive at a point of choice. With awareness we ask ourselves questions such as, do I go for quick fixes or habitual reactions? We ask whether our choices support us in our intentions. Do we choose the safe, the familiar and the dependable? In this practice we focus on how we choose to move and be in poses. You are offered several different choices of ways to be in poses. We also choose different versions of the same poses as a way of deepening awareness.

Yoga with Melissa 3, Yoga for Gratitude, Beginning with a meditation for gratitude Melissa will awaken the spirit of thanksgiving for your body, your breath, your relationships and all the blessings in your life. The yoga practice focuses on releasing the shoulders and opening the heart. The practice ends with Melissa encouraging you to carry the intention of gratitude out into your daily life.
This yoga practice is about learning to accept what we discover about ourselves with compassion and kindness. We being to love ourselves as perfectly imperfect beings. When we struggle we accept the struggle. Through this practice we can begin to see what is easy for us to accept and what is more difficult for us to accept and how to carry that out into our lives. This class includes challenging balancing postures: eagle and half moon balancing to explore the theme of acceptance.
