Sparkling-Strawberry-Mint-LemonadeOn Canada day we went strawberry picking and I was amazed how well these babies worked through my juicer. The yield was amazing! So for today’s Thirsty Thursday video I thought we would make a refreshing sparkling strawberry mint lemonade to beat the summer heat.
Strawberries are high in vitamin C. A 1 cup serving will give you 141% of your daily value of vitamin C. They are also a source of manganese, fiber, folate, iodine, potassium, magnesium, vitamin K and omega-3 fats. Strawberries have a combination of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory nutrients and so they help support cardiovascular health and prevent cardiovascular disease. Strawberries improve the regulation of blood sugar levels with decreased risk of type 2 diabetes and they help to prevent certain types of cancer including breast, cervical, colon and esophageal. Sparkling Strawberry Mint Lemonade Recipe:

1 cup strawberries
1 lemon
12 leaves of mint

(place the strawberries, lemon and mint through the juicer)
Mix in:
1 cup sparkling mineral water
1 tbsp of maple syrup or agave nectar
