Today’s juicing video is another request: Juicing for Urinary Tract Infection
Dear Melissa, Do you have any tips on what juices would be good for the kidneys and bladder, For the past 8-9 years I have suffered (Urinary Tract Infection),UTI’s on and off and at one point I was having them monthly, I now take cranberry and pro-biotics, I don’t get UTI’s as often as I used to, but they still like to show up now and again, mainly when I am stressed or have pmt, I am sure it also has something to do with my Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, recently My teenage daughter has been diagnosed with PCOS too and I think the stress from knowing that might of caused my new UTI,
Regards Emma from the UK
Thank you for your question. Of course it is always important to seek out medical help first with issues such as this and it sounds like you have.
So I am going to create a juice for you for urinary tract infections. This of course will focus on your kidneys and bladder. Urinary tract infections can be caused by yeast or bacteria. The infection can then pass into the bladder. Cystitis, an inflammation of the bladder, is caused when yeast or bacteria settle into the irritates tissue of the bladder. It is characterized by frequent urination. Make sure to drink plenty of water. Take in lots of onion and garlic which are antibacterial. Keep your intake of alcohol, sugar and artificial additives low because they can cause your bladder to be more irritated.
Cranberries are extremely useful in treating urinary tract infections by preventing the hooks on the bacteria from attaching to the cells of the bladder or urinary tract.
