Durga Series: Katyayani Durga
Katyayani Durga is the sixth form of Durga and she is worshiped on the sixth day of Navaratri. She is the daughter of the sage Katyayana. She has four arms. In her arms she carries a sword, shield, lotus and her final hand offers a blessing. Katyayani Durga rides a lion.
Katyayana the sage took a penance so his daughter would be born divine. His prayers were answered and Durga took the form of his daughter and Katyayani was born. Katyayani persistently battles against evil and deceit. She helps us to annihilate our fears and enemies, both internal and external. She helps us dispel darkness in terms of the harmful tendencies from your life.
