Yoga with Melissa 69: Special Series on Chakras and their Archetypes, Third Eye Chakra and the Intuitive

by Melissa West on

Yoga with Melissa 69 is on the sixth chakra and the Intuitive Archetype. As we work our way up the chakras we arrive at the sixth chakra, the third eye, located between the two real eyes, slightly above them, in the center of your forehead. This energy center has to do with wisdom, knowledge, intuition, discernment and imagination. It is here that we develop our psychic and artistic gifts. For this chakra to be balanced we need a healthy blend of your left analytical brain and your right intuitive and artistic brain. The bridge between the two is discernment. In this yoga class we will practice eagles pose to develop our vision as well as a number of eye yoga exercises. *If possible it is important to do the eye yoga exercises without glasses or contact lenses.

This hatha yoga, chakra yoga class begins with a guided reflection on the sixth chakra, third eye and the intuitive archetype. From there we will do some eye yoga and alternate nostril breathing or nadi shodhana. When we come to standing we practice eagles pose or garudasana and more eye yoga. In legs up the wall we practice sleeping eagle’s arms. We finish the class in a seated position with more eye yoga and the mudra for your inner self.
