Yoga with Melissa 76 is on your True Self. This hatha yoga class will focus on coming into direct and immediate experience of our divine nature, our true essence. Drawing from the teachings of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras we will practice yoga to free us from the drama, the tragedy and the saga created by our minds and experience our true self. When we practice yoga we are able to remember our True Self and contemplate our oneness with all of creation. The vinyasas from this class are inspired by Mark Whitwell’s “Yoga of Heart.”
This hatha yoga class combined with some gentle vinyasas begins with legs up the wall with a reflection on your True Self. From there we move into some short vinyasas to open up the back of your legs, spine and connect your movement with your breath. In standing we practice eagle pose or garudasana. We finish with alternate nostril breathing or nadi shodhana.
